How to Create Your Own Assignment
- Go to your teacher dashboard
- Click on one of your classes
- Select Assignments from the top navigation
- Click Add Assignment near the top right of the page
- Select your preferred option as a starting point for your assignment
- Generate with AI
- Import via file or pasted text
- Choose from the public assignment library
- Create from scratch
- Follow the 5-step process on the page.
- Enter a name in the Assignment Settings
- Optionally upload files for the AI to use as context while grading
- Add questions which can be short answer, essay, or multiple choice. Learn more about how to create an outline assignment .
- Add a rubric if you have short answer or essay questions. Learn more about how to add a rubric .
- Select your submission settings including the following options:
- Essay submission format (typed, handwritten, or either)
- Number of attempts a student gets for each question
- Time limit students have to complete the assignment
- How students will complete the questions (in order or any order)
- When students receive feedback (instantly or at the end)
- Optionally hide the rubric from students
- Optionally hide the score from students
- Optionally shuffle the multiple choice options
- Optionally disable pasting into the response textbox
- Optionally disable narration, dictation, or translation for all students
- Click Publish to set the following:
- Which classes to add this assignment to
- When the assignment will be available to students
- When the assignment is due
- When the assignment is closed
